World’s leading tennis player and title holder in Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic will open the 126th edition of the most prestigious tournament, in a match against Spanish Juan Carlos Ferrero, on the central court. At the same time, Janko Tipsarevic will meet Argentinean player David Nalbandian on the court 1, while Viktor Troicki will play against Spanish Marcel Granollers in the first round. Later during the day, Jelena Jankovic will have a duel with Belgian Kim Clijsters. In women’s competition, Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic is defending the title.

Men’s volleyball selection of Serbia was triumphant in Russia against the national team of Japan, with the result 3:2, in the third round of the World League Group A. In the hitherto competition Serbia has the score of five victories and four losses. The matches of the fourth weekend in the Group A are on program from June 28 to 30, in Novi Sad. In the following matches the Serbian selection will play against Cuba, Japan and Russia.

The women’s volleyball selection has taken the 11th place in their debut appearance in the Grand Prix competition, with the score of three wins and six losses. In defeat against Thailand, the team of coach Zoaran Terzic has ended this year’s Grand Prix.

Serbian kayaker Marko Novakovic has won the first place in the Olympic discipline K1-200m, at the European Championship in Zagreb. On the last day of the championship, the crew Stanojevic-Pajic has taken the silver medal in the event K2-500m. Previously, the four-men crew consisting of Milenko Zoric, Erin Holpert, Aleksandar Aleksic and Dejan Terzic won the bronze in the event K4-1000m.

The football selection of Italy has qualified for the semi-final of the European Championship, after defeating the English selection in Kiyiv, owing to better performance of penalty shots – 4:2. On June 28, Italy will play against Germany in Warsaw, and the first semi-final match between Portugal and Spain will take place in Donetsk, on June 27.
